School Broadcasting Program

The GI-TEC Mt. Pleasant - School Broadcasting Program (SBP) provides a hands-on experience for students interested in video production and broadcasting.  The SBP operates as a co-curricular club as a part of the GI-TEC’s Digital Media program.

Students broadcast and produce a variety of athletic, academic and assembly events, such as:

  • Varsity football, volleyball, basketball, wresting, cheer, hockey, etc.

  • Homecoming assemblies

  • Veteran’s Day Assemblies

  • Graduation Ceremonies

  • Elementary performance assemblies

  • Fine arts productions

  • and more

Student responsibilities during broadcasts include:

  • Play by play (calls the action of the game)

  • Color (describes the action of the game)

  • Producer (runs the digital production, commercials, scoreboard, etc.)

  • Switcher (switches between the 4 different camera angles)

  • Cameras (action camera, hero cameras)

  • Field Camera (on the field - on the court cameras - wireless)

  • Audio Producer (connects and manages the audio output)

  • Crew (equipment management, setup, etc.)
