What does the Belonging Committee do?
The Belonging Committee task force meets once a month to:
Develop a baseline understanding of the current school climate to ensure all voices in our community feel supported
Identify areas where additional support is needed to enhance student and staff well-being
Establish specific goals to create a welcoming and supportive school environment
Communicate our progress and initiatives to the community
Build a Belonging Committee strategic plan
Foster an environment where all students, staff, and families feel valued and connected

Established common shared vocabulary
Wrote a charge for the task force
Established short term and long term goals for the task force
Explored current data related to Belonging Committee for the district (demographics, perception data, academic and behavioral data) to establish a baseline
Participated in training to build a shared knowledge base understanding
Utilized knowledge and information from MASA Beyond Equity training to build a Belonging Committee framework for the district that includes both what is currently done in the district and recommendations for the future
