On this snow day, do not forget to complete our Capturing Kids' Hearts Family Survey below if you have not already done so!

At Mt. Pleasant Public Schools, all of our schools use the Capturing Kids' Hearts (CKH) process to build strong relationships, create a positive school culture, and ensure every student feels connected, valued, and supported. Through CKH strategies—like Greetings, Good Things, Social Contracts, and Launches—we work to create classrooms and school communities where students thrive both academically and socially.

As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we invite you to share your thoughts in the CKH Family Survey.

Your feedback helps us understand how our CKH practices are experienced by families and how they impact students' connections and sense of belonging.

💬 We truly value your voice! Your input helps us celebrate what's going well and identify ways to keep growing together as a district family.

This year, we invite you to join Mr. Aquilina and attend “Grounds for Growth”—a casual time designed for parents and caregivers to connect, learn, and grow together as a school community. Each session will last about 30 minutes, may occasionally feature guest speakers, and will be structured as a focused conversation rather than an open forum with Q & A.

Sessions will be held at 8:45 a.m. in the Fancher Elementary Media Center. You are welcome to drop your child(ren) off at 8:40 and then join us right afterward. Coffee and baked goods will be provided as we come together to learn more about Fancher, partner together, and strengthen our community for our kids.

Afternoon Parent Pick-Up Update for Nov. 24–25

On Monday and Tuesday (November 24–25), Fancher staff will be piloting a new afternoon parent pick-up setup. All grade levels will now be dismissed from the front of the building along Kinney Avenue.

Please review the attached diagram to see where your child will line up under this trial arrangement.

For 5th grade students, this is a change from their usual dismissal location. Staff will do their best to identify vehicles and use radios to call students to their pick-up locations to help the process run smoothly.

Thank you for your cooperation as we explore ways to make our pick-up process safer and more efficient for all students.

Dear Fancher Families,

Fancher Elementary conducted our first fire drill of the school year today. Students did an excellent job following expectations and exiting the building safely and quickly. This was a great first practice, and we will continue to hold regular drills throughout the year to ensure everyone is prepared in the event of an emergency.

Thank you for your continued support.
